Building Leadership Confidence at Registers of Scotland through Coaching

In March 2025, Registers of Scotland (RoS) partnered with Know You More to offer personalised coaching support for their leaders and executives. With two concurrent programmes—1:1 Leadership Coaching and 1:1 Executive Coaching—the goal was to build confidence, enhance core leadership capabilities, and help individuals think more strategically in their roles.
Two Coaching Pathways, One Shared Goal
RoS launched these initiatives to support people leaders across different levels of the organisation. While the two audiences faced different day-to-day challenges, both groups shared a need for a confidential space to reflect, refocus, and grow.
Empowering Leadership through Coaching
By April 2025, 13 coaching engagements had reached completion, and the results clearly showed the power of coaching to unlock potential:
All participants reported increased confidence across all RoS leadership competencies, with the greatest uplift in Leading & Communicating, Collaborating & Partnering , Analysis & Making Effective Decisions and Thinking Wider.
These outcomes highlight how coaching doesn’t just benefit the individual—it strengthens leadership culture across the organisation.
A Trusted Space to Think Wider
One of the defining themes of the coaching experience at RoS was growth in strategic thinking and collaboration. Leaders found themselves better equipped to:
- Make confident decisions in complex or ambiguous situations.
- Build stronger partnerships across the organisation.
- Communicate with greater clarity and intention.
- Lead with broader organisational awareness, beyond just their immediate teams.
This aligns closely with RoS’ leadership framework and ambitions for a forward-thinking, collaborative culture.
For senior leaders in the Executive Coaching programme, the ability to “think wider” was a standout outcome—reflected in one of the highest competency uplifts across all participants.
A Coaching Partnership That Delivered Value
From the start, the Know You More team worked closely with RoS to ensure the coaching experience was not only high-quality but also aligned to organisational goals. From setup to evaluation, the experience was designed to support meaningful impact.
“Know You More’s approach has exceeded my expectations in terms of the quality of coaching, the customisable approach for pre and post evaluation as well as the administrator dashboard that makes it easy to track the progress of each coaching engagement while protecting the confidentiality of the coaching sessions.
Positive feedback from coachees has spoken to the high quality of the coaches and I have appreciated how the Know You More team have consistently focused on helping me make the coaching deliver maximum value for the organisation.”
— Anna, Client Lead at Registers of Scotland
Anna’s perspective reflects the strength of the collaboration—not just in supporting individual growth, but in embedding a culture of reflective, values-led leadership across the organisation.
